FAQs

What are the advantages of using four implants instead of two?

Four implants offer better load distribution, greater stability, fewer micromovements, and more retention. This leads to improved comfort, chewing ability, and longevity of both the implants and the prosthesis, especially for tougher diets or larger arches.

Yes—it remains removable for cleaning and ease of use. Even with four implants, the denture snaps on and off, offering convenience and hygiene access while maintaining firm support.

In many cases, yes. If the implants are well placed and bone quality permits, the removable prosthesis can later be upgraded or converted into a fixed hybrid prosthesis (non-removable) as your condition and preferences allow.

Maintenance is similar — brushing, flossing, use of interdental tools, and routine checkups. Because of the increased number of implants, there is more surface area to monitor. Also, the retention mechanism (clips, bars) may need periodic adjustment or replacement as wear occurs.

Should one implant fail, the remaining implants can often carry the load temporarily while the failed one is addressed (i.e. removed and replaced after healing). Because there’s redundancy, it’s less likely that the whole prosthesis is compromised. Rescue planning is integral to design.
